From January to March 2026, Reaching CIC, with funding support from Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Food Support Fund, will deliver the Warm Welcome Meals Project. Through our Brew Crew and Brew Club network, we’ll provide vital support to local residents who are struggling to heat their homes or access nutritious food.

Warm Welcome Meals Project

This project addresses the growing hardship and isolation faced by vulnerable adults in Stoke-on-Trent during the colder months. Rising living costs, fuel poverty and food insecurity continue to leave many unable to heat their homes or afford regular meals.

This initiative will ensure vulnerable adults can access warmth, food and social connection. For those struggling with low income or poor health, a free hot drink and meal in a safe community venue or cafe offers more than nourishment – it provides dignity, comfort and community. By hosting this provision in independent cafes and safe community venues as part of our Brew Crew and Brew Club offering (offered year-round), people can access help easily in familiar settings, without stigma or formal barriers.

Who Can Take Part?

We invite vulnerable adults aged 18 and over living in Stoke-on-Trent who are struggling to heat their home or feed themselves to take part.

What Will Participants Receive?

As part of the project, participants will receive:

  • A free hot drink.
  • A free meal or piece of cake, depending on the venue.
  • We have a limited number of soup makers to distribute, enabling participants to make a hot meal at home, providing long-term benefits after the project has ended.
  • Warmth and social connection – reducing loneliness and and improving mental wellbeing.
